Cycles...

Repeated actions. Repeated thoughts. Same behavior. Cycles.....

It wasn't until a few years ago that I became conscious of the cycles I was in. Choosing the same type of partner, showing up the same way in different settings, not really understanding me, I was sunk in the cycle of sameness and unawareness.

This time last year I was so aware of God and His presence but I still bound in the cycle of lust. Let me tell it, I wasn't and could never be tempted. You see I was so proud of how long I had been celibate and honestly had my nose bent at those around me that weren't...... until I found myself exposed in more ways than one. There it was, that cycle of lust, loneliness, and choosing out of my wants thinking I could control.

After being convicted and some more, I asked God for help to end this cycle. A year later, that same thing came knocking to see if I would let it in, welllllllllllllllll let's just say God is a keeper! Not only will He keep you, but He gives you wise counsel if you'll take it. I don't write this to boast, but to encourage whoever needs to read this! Cycles come, whether it's seasonal, quarterly, yearly, they come to test you. They check your temperature to feel just how hot OR cold you are. The blessing is the promise that we aren't alone. Yes God is with us, and gives us tangible people to walk with us through life. We need one another, but we need the right destiny partner(s). In our brokenness we cling to whomever can fill the void, but as we start to adapt new habits + heal, we will see that those people no longer fit the old picture. That's okay!
